Public Service Sector
These are some of the organizations that provide public services on a
national and international scale.
- Public Broadcast Service. If they
don't do it, who will? Television would be a vast wasteland, culturally, did
PBS not provide some of the world's best and most informative programming
and cultural access. This is one of the most surprisingly useful and
informative sites on the World-Wide Web.
- National Public Radio. The NPR does
for radio what PBS does for television.
- Canadian Cable Public Affairs Channel
is to Canada what C-SPAN is to the United States, providing televised
access to government deliberations, etc.
Earth Operations Central proposes that both of these organizations combine
their efforts and create a joint-effort WebNet, which should be called (I
originated this phrase, by the way, the trademark is mine) the
National Electronic Teledata System.
